Description: Cryopreserved peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) are the preferred matrix for functional assays as well as some higher parameter immunoprofiling assays. PBMC quality is critical for obtaining meaningful data. This presentation will summarize the issues and challenges surrounding obtaining high quality PBMC preparations. Scientists from AAPS and ISAC are partnering to identify the challenges and define workable solutions. This presentation will communicate their initiatives and progress.
Learning Objectives:
Describe the types Immune Monitoring assays and the importance of PBMC quality.
Describe the upcoming initiatives from AAPS and ISAC scientists concerning Best Practices for PBMC processing for Immune Monitoring.
Describe how to participate in the AAPS/ISAC committees, consensus documents and best practice guidelines.
